A Bit Cute, 2017
It’s a comic about the silly feelings humans get when they meet a cute new person and let their ‘huh, maybe’ feelings run wild for a moment.
This idea developed from a mix of a few different little ideas, including an image I drew several months earlier when I first heard the audio piece "All You Need Is A Wall". The line “that doesn’t happen when I have sex” got me thinking about the difference between slugs and humans. Often, humans also feel an emotional or romantic connection. That’s what I wanted to explore. Love. Human connection. Or at least, the little flicker of hope and wonder that we allow ourselves when we encounter a new potential cutie, before it all inevitably comes crashing down around us. Love. Hope. Slug Sex.
